No need to worry.

Today was hopefully the last ultrasound the doctors will take of me. It went well, as I scored a perfect 8 out of 8 on the biophysical part of the ultrasound. I practiced breathing twice, like I was supposed to, and was very active for the technician. Mommy thinks that the bagel she ate for breakfast helped matters some, and I'll let her think that. ;)

They estimated my birthweight to be around 6 lbs, 1 ounce this time around, which means that they're no longer worried about my size or the size of Mommy's belly. I'm just a shorty, is all, and that's fine with me and fine with Mommy. I just don't have the tall gene working to my advantage, anyhow.

I could come along any day now. I've been keeping Mommy guessing by causing her all kinds of cramps and things. And since she doesn't know what to expect, it makes it all the more fun for me. They did tell her that my head is very far down, though, which means that I'm ready to be born.

My head was so far down, in fact, that it was difficult for the ultrasound technician to get a good measurement of it. And the view that she got up my nose wasn't the best pose I'd ever taken for a picture.

But here's the pictures that she got. The first one is the one that shows up my nose, and the second is a fuzzy profile of me. The ultrasound technician said there was too much bone shadow and uterus in the way to get any clearer of a shot. Oh, she also said that it appears that I have a good sprig of hair, because Mommy mentioned how many people have told her that a lot of heartburn means that the baby has a lot of hair. Mommy didn't know you could tell that kind of stuff via ultrasound, but thought it was interesting nonetheless.

New developments

The doctors aren't so concerned about my size any more. They think that I just hit my last growth spurt a little late and have since made up for it. Mommy complains a lot that she feels like she is going to pop and gets upset when she can't eat as much as she'd like to. It won't be too much longer, though, and she can have that seven course dinner that she's dying for. :)

Linda touched my head today, confirming that Mommy's 1 centimeter dialated. This means that things are progressing along normally, and that the big secret as to when I'm going to be born is soon to be discovered. As much fun as it would be to keep Mommy and Daddy guessing, they are both being patient and I'd kind of like to meet them and see what they're like. I pretty much have a good idea about Mommy, but Daddy seems to be pretty quiet most of the time.

Mommy got a new camera this weekend and took some pictures of my room. I figured I'd share them, so that everyone can see how cool it looks. I can't wait to spend my first night in it!

This is my bookshelf and a rocking chair for Mommy and Daddy to sit in when they read to me.
This is my changing table/dresser. Beth made the quilt for me.
Mommy liked it so much she decided to make a picture out of it!
This is the closet that Daddy spent a lot of time working on.
Mommy said I have so many clothes she doesn't know if I'll be able to wear them all.

This is a picture of my room when you first walk in.
I have a crib tent to keep the cats out.

This is my stuffed animals and my laundry hamper.

Well, that's it for the virtual tour of my room. If anything else develops between now and Friday, when Mommy goes for another ultrasound, Mommy or Daddy will do their best to update. :)
